The entrancing work of cinematographer Jean-Jacques Renon is one of French Cinema's best kept secrets. While many of the film's he photographed and lit in his near two decade career have vanished into obscurity, his work with Jean Rollin will live forever. I will be posting more on Renon in the future as he shot several of Rollin's greatest films, for this post though I am just presenting some stills from Thrill of the Vampires showing off Renon's inventive and miraculous lighting set ups. Aren't these just gorgeous?
